Tuna refers to a genus of large predatory fish that occurs in all tropical, subtropical and temperate seas. They are among the most important edible fish and are of great importance to the fishing industry. Some of the eight species are now endangered by overfishing.
The sardine, also called Atlantic or European sardine, is the only species of the genus Sardina in the herring family. It is an important food fish. Their occurrence extends from the northeastern Atlantic and the North Sea to Senegal.
